Suzaan Heyns: bags to bag
Christmas might be over and our wish lists long forgotten… But with impending birthdays, anniversaries, promotions and new seasons with new fashion, I think it’s fair to keep the wish lists going in 2012. Yes? Definitely!
So, what’s on our wish lists, you ask? Our fave local designer Suzaan Heyns’s new handbag range (featured on page 124 of our January 2012 issue). Every night I find myself dreaming about holding – even cuddling! – one of her beautiful creations.
The range was born after Suzaan Heyns joined forces with local leather-goods company, Leather Rose (who has won international awards including ‘Best Custom Leather shop in New York’ – we are so proud!) to turn her mastery of design and fabric into a leather handbag range that are to (and will) be coveted by every girl – whether they have a weak spot for bags; or not (look at these and tell me your are not yearning, panting and longing for one?):

This range is particularly special because every item is handmade and created here in SA using products that mainly have a South African origin – more proudly South African than this I doubt it gets.
At the moment this is a once-off collaboration, but we are crossing our fingers and holding our thumbs there will be many, many more to come from Suzaan Heyns and Leather Rose.
