Chiano-Sky at SA Style Awards
I spent much of yesterday judging and attending the SA Style Awards hosted at the Southern Sun Hotel at Hyde Park Corner. The view is spectacular and the party was super fun. I confess to going home way too late for a Sunday night.( Ouch) Overall winner Pabi Moloi is a delight( See My World August issue) and our Marie Claire Style Award for most innovative dresser went to the delightful Yfm twins – Hlelo and Ntando Masina. Of course the lovely Danica Lepen – creative director at Marion and Lindie was our choice for most stylish designer of the year (take a look at the My World feature in the September edition if you needed confirmation) and in the upcoming December edition we feature the fine work of Justin Rhodes ( with his partner Cameron) the brains and stylish brawn behind the Neighbourgoods Market in Cape Town and now Braamfontein Joburg, the What if the World Gallery and Superette. He was the uber delightful winner of the most Stylish Business man category sponsored by Wanted magazine. ( I will post pictures soon)
But the revelation of the evening was the extremely talented and terribly young ( read 18) Chiano-Sky who has been signed by EMI international and after watching her perform I totally know why! Watch this space.
