Banksy Cleans Up The Streets
Street artist, graffiti guru, vandal – call Banksy what you will but one thing’s for sure he always creates a stir. Banksy recently took a little work trip to Southern California, and stenciled the above on a derelict oil tank that thousands of commuters drive by on a daily basis. As reported by Guy Adams of The Independent, once the landowner found out that the world’s most famous graffiti artist had paid him a visit he had the tank removed and is now flogging it to the highest bidder. Hey mister, that’s not in the spirit of Banksy! Art on the street for people on the street, and all that. As Guy Adams points out, there is beautiful irony in the fact that Banksy’s ‘vandalism’ resulted in the unattractive item being removed once and for all. Well done Banksy for cleaning up the streets.
