Mememe Joburg opening April 1st

I went to Dion Chang’s Flux Trends Analysis presentation yesterday – all about the impact of technology on media, fashion houses being media companies and the bite-size thoughts about the referral economy… fascinating! And I love the way he gets attendees to record a short video clip of their impressions of the presentation afterwards. Great way to document who was there and what they thought.

I bumped into our favourite blogger Millisuthando Bongela who’s opening up a store with Doreen Southwood and Two’s Caren and Gina Waldman next door to Strangelove and a hop skip and a jump from Kluk in Parkhurst. The store will stock everyone from Black Coffee to Ida Elsje, Oh Dear Megan, Christopher Strong and more – and most importantly, all curated by Miss Millib herself. She is so excited about the house they’re busy getting ready for April 1 opening which promises to be more than just a shop – but a destination meet-and-greet spot and hang-out spot for friends and shoppers.
