Meet the new tattoo-clad Barbie
The legendary doll, Barbie, has held many different jobs in the past, from a doctor, an astronaut, a teacher, a model to a housewife. That’s only naming a few. So what is Barbie’s most recent look? A tattoo-clad, pink-haired diva. This new Barbie is the result of Barbie’s collaboration with Simone Legno of the Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand Tokidoki.
The new Barbie is described on Barbie’s website as:
‘Tokidoki® Barbie® doll is always ready for cutting-edge fashion! She pops on a pink miniskirt, logo leggings and black top with signature skull heart and bones, carries a large bag from the brand, then adds bracelets, a belt, and sky-high sparkly silvery shoes! This funky fashionista features trendy tattoos and a pink bob. With cactus friend, Bastardino, by her side, she’s ready for fun in fashion-forward form!’
Loads of people will definitely have a problem with her new rougher look, but I think it’s great to update her identity every so often. Just as long as she’s not portrayed as a drug-addict or any other seedy profession. It’s great that all identities are embraced.

That is one stylishly dressed Barbie Doll. I like the idea because not all little girls are the perfect blonde princess, some are different, some are funky, some want pink hair, so let them have a doll to suit their wants as well. I personally would love a doll like this (if I were a couple years younger obviously) Parents who will be worried about the influence this Barbie will have on their kids must teach their kids to not be so easily influenced
I am in love with this Barbie!!! Do you know where I could buy one in South AFrica or even online?
