Jean Paul Gaultier pays homage to Amy Winehouse

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2012 couture collection has sparked huge debate amongst the fashion community. His entire runway show featured Amy Winehouse lookalikes, complete with beehive hair, black eyeliner and the occasional cigarette. As the models strutted down the Paris runway, the late singer’s music played in the background.

Amy’s father Mitch was not too impressed, saying ‘We’re proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste.’ What do you think? Is this a bit disrespectful, so soon after her death?
