Amber Jones for Mr Price
Not only is Amber Jones, interviewed in our “About A Blog” on page 32 of this month issue, the brain behind a popular blog, but she’s also a pretty nifty designer! Her second capsule range was released at selected Mr. Price stores nationwide on 21 November. Amber tells us more: “This range was a fun take on vintage inspired grown-up-geek-chic with bold and kooky colour palette, print mixing, fifties inspired silhouettes and quirky vintage detail. My inspiration was an amalgamation of Jenna Lyons from JCREW, Chloe Sevigny in Big Love and my Standard 6 maths teacher.” Amber used witty phrases like ‘Bows and Books’ and ‘Ponies and Bikes’ to create the ultimate nerdy girl’s t-shirt. Jones sites the clever kids who are a part of Mr. Price’s design team for all her amazing prints and says that although it was a challenge “making value for money fashion, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
