What Michelle Williams did to look like Marilyn
Not only did Michelle Williams wear a blonde wig, spend hours in makeup each day to play Marilyn Monroe in the much awaited film, My Week With Marilyn, but she also piled on a couple of kilos. The dainty Williams also had to learn how to move exactly like Monroe. “…an awful lot is Williams’s understanding of the way Marilyn walked, and the way Williams herself took on the wiggle.”
The lovely Marilyn was known for her curves, which is why Michelle says: “I wasn’t watching what I ate, let’s put it that way.” Sounds like fun to me.
They also used clever wardrobe tricks to make the more flat-chested Williams look more voluptuous. ‘The costume designer and Michelle came up with some great stuff,’ said director Simon Curtis. I also just love these beautiful, recently released photos of Michelle as Marilyn.
