I adore the blogosphere where I’ve dabbled for a few blog years… I’m thrilled to be offering readings as a member of Ms Marie Clairvoyant’s crystal gazers.

I love living near the sea, Country Road, reading on the beach, sleeping late, a winter thunderstorm and the smell of clean washing. My pet hates are fuzzy lint balls on clothing, people who are late and odd numbers. I’m obsessed with searching the Gumtree for things I don’t need (though I never buy them), my electric clothing defuzzer and celebrity gossip. I can’t live without my GhD, my BlackBerry and me time.

A few of my favourite things: wire-haired daschunds, the colour grey, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Nina Simone, Diane Kruger, the 80s, neon nail varnish, The Sopranos, a certain tall blonde guy. My dream fashion buy would be a pair of Jimmy Choos or Manolo Blahniks but here back on earth, my favourite shop is Topshop – especially the tall section.

I love a new season of fashion and of course I’m obsessed with shopping. I can’t get enough of Balmain. Lanvin, Burberry… the list continues. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling to local places and discovering new talent, restaurants and interesting people.

I love subbing, weird I know, but so much so that I dream about proofreading or that there are mistakes in the magazine and I race to work early to check the previous day’s work. I do tap and modern dancing and am busy training for my teachers in tap. I miss London every day but I adore Cape Town. I also love my other half, poetry, boxers, freezocinos (from Caturra, am a little bit obsessive!), my friends, going to the theatre, Harry Potter, champagne, watching sport, Woolies muesli rusks and living on the sea.

When you discard arrogance, complexity, and a few other things that get in the way, sooner or later you will discover that simple, childlike, and mysterious secret known to those of the Uncarved Block: Life is Fun.’ Tao Of Piglet

I love ice cream, red wine, local music (of the Bellville rock kind), road trips, summer dresses, the smell of the sea, living in the city, and beautiful stationery. I loathe bad drivers, cowards, cold tea, and litterbugs. I’m learning to speak Italian and I have a horse called Tarka. I’m a true Piscean and a true redhead. I have many a nickname (mostly because people struggle to pronounce my name) On my wish list right now: anything from the Emporio Armani spring/summer collection 2010. Pretty please? A girl can dream!

I’m a typical Gemini: on one hand a perfect day would be sitting on a sunny beachside porch, good music playing in the background, eating loads of seafood, sipping chilled white wine, surrounded by a handful of good friends and family. And then there’s that other side of me that loves the bustle of the big city, shopping, trying out new restaurants and night spots…and did I also mention I’m addicted to the world wide web…

I love things full of promise: words like wanderlust, a blank leather-bound journal, skyscraper heels, a pot of india ink, well-packed weekender, a loaf of salt-crusted bread, drinking great wine in the sun or by a fire, pedicure voucher, a flirtatious smile and tickets to a music festival.

Eight things I can’t live without: afternoon sun, mint Lindt, laughter, Jack Russells, self-respect, Joan Armatrading, witty similes, and my fuchsia court heels from H&M in Hong Kong.
Eulogi Rheeder
features writer

I’m the features writer at Marie Claire magazine. Words and telling (long, complicated) stories are my forte. I love coffee, nougat and nachos; have an obsession with belts, shoes, earrings and vintage clothing; wish I had a miniature pink-piggie as a pet; don’t like people who amble and idle in shopping malls; get a thrill from making people laugh and having a good chuckle myself, and most bizarrely think that my claim to fame is that I have once chopped up a (dead) whale.
Sharon Becker
fashion director

I have a foot fetish, which involves needing a lot of shoes… I hate it when people wear sunglasses at night and Crocs (even on children) make me angry! I have a love affair with SA fashion – my new favourite ensemble is an Abigail Betz ruffled tuxedo shirt worn with her silk satin dove-grey bubble skirt – the new take on masculine/feminine.
Phahamiso Tsotetsi
fashion assistant johannesburg

I’m inspired by street fashion and the immaculately groomed old women that stroll around Hyde Park. I struggle to wear heels the whole day so I always have back-up pumps in my hand bag for those long unplanned walks. My favourite local designers: Mantsho, Abigail Betz, Loincloth and Ashes and Marianne Fassler.
Tarryn McLuckie
fashion assistant cape town

From age 15 I knew I wanted to work in magazines so when I finished school I left Durban and moved to Cape Town to study journalism and film at UCT. I absolutely love my job as Marie Claire fashion assistant as it lets me indulge my fashion addiction daily. My favourite international designers are Michael Kors, Balmain and Marchesa. Locally, I love Klûk and Stephania Morland.
